Veggie boxes are still available, but we are scaling back to just offer the small size for the remainder of the season.

1. Whole wheat and olive bread this week!

This week Tyler will be baking a NEW Whole Wheat Sourdough as well as a Mixed Olive variety. Bread will be available both Wednesday and Saturday.

2. Myrtle Street Bake of the week:

This week Megan is baking her Maple Sweet Cream Buns! A sweet batch baked bun with a maple cream filling, the tang of sourdough, and topped with crunchy Swedish pearl sugar. Sold in packs of four. Order yours for Saturday pickup 10am-1pm.

Myrtle Street Bakes will be doing Thanksgiving treats again this year - still fine tuning the plan, but definitely pies and rolls will be featured!

3. End of season schedule reminder:

The last “regular” week of pickups will be Wednesday October 18th 4pm-6pm & Saturday October 21st 10am-1pm
We will ALSO be doing a Thanksgiving pickup for CSA members the Sunday and Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving - details closer to the date
There will be bread and baked goods available for the Thanksgiving pickup

Highlights:

Price is the same as 2023
Extended pickup hours for 2024 - we will be open until 7pm on Wednesdays!
You can choose Saturday pickup (10am-1pm), Wednesday pickup (4pm-7pm) , or “I’ll pick later” for those who don’t know their 2024 schedule yet.

5. What’s in the box:

We plan for this week’s CSA (WEEK 18) and veggie boxes to include the following (please note that last minute changes or additions may occur):

Tomatoes (ripe & green)
Storage onions
Shallots
Eggplant
Herbs
Hot Peppers
Sweet Peppers
Tomatillos
Arugula or Bunched Greens
and if we’re lucky:
Fall storage turnips or radishes

THOUGHTS FROM THE FIELD:

Things are still growing! We are hoping that frosts are kept at bay so that tomato season keeps going for a little bit longer. If not, green tomato relish will surely be on the menu!

Looking forward to next season, our greenhouse project is moving forward! Check out the view from the inside, hard to think in only a few months we will be sprouting plants for next year.

The view here at the farm never disappoints, here’s a view across one of the fields. Look straight through the barn next time you stop by - you may see the neighbors’ cows!
